Aquatica Synchro’s High Performance program is for those athletes who want to compete at a national level and specialize in the sport of Artistic Swimming. They have competed previously at the provincial/interprovincial level. Athletes are placed by the coaches according to their age and skill level.

High performance athletes participate at local, provincial, national, and sometimes international competitions or camps. Athletes at this level have opportunities to try out for Manitoba Artistic Swimming Provincial Teams as well as Canada Artistic Swimming National Teams.  Training hours increase as age levels increase.

All competitive athletes are expected to follow our Athlete Attendance Policy.

If you were enrolled in Aquatica programming in the previous season, invitations for high performance programming were sent out by the end of the season as well as recommendations for where to register your athlete this season. If you are new to our club or did not receive an invitation and are interested in this programming please reach out for an assessment.

** Aquatica Synchro is proud to be able to provide some of the most economical fees in competitive sport.  Our competitive programs average $6.00 per hour of training with highly qualified, NCCP certified coaches. **

Some Competitive fees vary greatly based on if the athlete is new and requires club apparel or not, how many events they are participating in, if there is travel that year or not, and if families participate in volunteering and/or fundraising. Because of this, we cannot include these costs in our regular training fees. We have outlined where these fees come up below (and why) but please reach out if you have questions so we can clarify more!

  1. Items from Wardrobe Kit. Details to come soon as it is not finalized for the 2023/2024 season. The items will only need to be purchased once (not year to year) and will only have to be replaced if athlete grows out of them or they are too worn out. The larger items in the kit will include:
    1. A custom Aquatica Synchro track jackett (~$70) for competition warm-up and special events. Athletes may use this suit for training as well.
    2. A custom Aquatica Synchro track jacket~$95-$120 (depending on # of athletes that order them per season. Used ones may be available for purchase)  and full-length black pants or leggings for competitions. The track jacket purchase will be facilitated by the Wardrobe Coordinator and costs added to your invoice. Again, this does not have to be purchased every season, if your athletes has on that fits you are good to go!
    3. Additional items (i.e. tshirts) will be required. Details to come.
  2. ~$70- A black swimsuit, white cap and plain goggles for figure competitions. These can be purchased locally.  Swimming Matters provides a discount for competitive aquatic athletes.
  3. ~$50-$125 Routine suits and headpieces to be determined as the routines take shape in the fall. The coach, in consultation with the parents, will choose the suit & budget.  The final decision rests with the coach.  These are ordered by the club and costs added to your invoice.

2. Competition Fees:  ~$200+, depending on # of events athlete competes in.

There are 4 – 6 meets per year, and athletes are charged competition fees for each meet in which they participate.  These fees range from $20 to $75 per event at each meet. “Events” include figures, team, solo, or duet at a given meet. All provincial stream athletes compete in the figure event and a routine event (usually team).

Current Manitoba Artistic Swimming Fees are listed here, note that team, duet and combo events fees are divided amongst all the athletes on that are on that team.

Competition fees for National Qualifiers and Nationals are higher than local meets as they usually asses an athlete fee of at least $100.

3. Volunteer Levy: Up to $225-$300 based on age group. This levy only applies if families do not completely volunteer points.

As we are a not-for-profit, parent-run Club, we rely on families that have swimmers registered in a competitive program to commit to supporting the Club through volunteering. If this isn’t an option for your family, you can choose at registration to ‘buy out’ of the commitment. If you can’t commit to the full amount of volunteer points, you can pay a pro-rated amount for the time that you DO NOT complete- up to the full levy amount if no volunteering is completed.

Full details on the Family Commitment Plan can be found here.

4. Fundraising Levy: $400- can be earned back through fundraising.

Parents/guardians of competitive swimmers will be asked to participate in fundraising events. Because Aquatica Synchro Club is a non-profit, incorporated organization, fundraising is a critical component of reducing the overall fees for all swimmers. A fundraising fee of $400.00 per family is paid in advance which is earned back when fundraising items are sold. This fee will be collected via cheque at the start of the season.

5. Travel Costs: 11-12 HP ~$300, Youth (13-15) HP & Junior and Senior up to $2500 per out of town competition.

11-12 HP- We will be doing a trial run of traveling differently in the future in an attempt to reduce travel fees for families. Please review the CPC travel guide 2024 for more information- this will apply to the next time we travel with this group which will most likely be to CPC in Regina for May 2024.

Athletes at the Youth, Junior and Senior level are required to travel to the National Qualifier event (or another event if deemed appropriate by the coach), and Nationals (in May) if they qualify.

All Youth, Junior and Senior teams competing at the national stream level, as well as the top 2 solos/duets in the province, travel to Qualifiers held in March. Teams automatically qualify to go to Nationals.

Athletes may travel additional out of town competitions based on interest

6. Late Registration Fee $200, only if not registered by August 8th.

Athletes registered before August 8th, 2023 for any programming will pay fees listed below. After that time there will be a $200 late registration fee added to listed prices. Registering by this date gives our coaches time to plan accordingly and our board time to budget based on a more accurate representation of what our budget will look like.

Amilia accounts (our registration system) need to be cleared from outstanding balances at this time. On August 8th, the only fee’s due are a $200 deposit to hold your spot. The remainder of the competitive fees can follow a fee schedule throughout the season or be paid up front.

Aquatica Synchro Parents are an important part of our community and play a vital role in supporting our athletes. Here is the important information on requirements of our parent community.

  1. 1 Parent of each competitive athlete is required to complete Respect in Sport by October 1st of the competitive year. This only has to be completed once so if you have done it for another sport or a previous year you do not have to do it again.
  2. Parents are expected to follow our Code of Conduct for Aquatica Parents and Guardians.
  3. Our sport requires volunteers to run and grow. Parents and family members are vital for our success. Each of our competitive programs require volunteer points as outlined in our Family Commitment Plan.
  4. Please take a moment to review our fee schedule and payment policy
