Aquatica Synchro’s High Performance program is for those athletes who want to compete at a national level and specialize in the sport of artistic swimming. They have competed previously at the provincial/interprovincial level. Athletes are placed by the coaches according to their age and skill level.

High performance athletes participate at local, provincial, national, and sometimes international competitions or camps. Apparel:  Athletes in the competitive streams will require:

  1. A black swimsuit, white cap and plain goggles for figure competitions. These can be purchased locally.
  2. Wardrobe Kit. Kit requirements will vary for Provincial Stream and Competitive athletes
  3. Routine suits and head pieces to be determined as the routines take shape in the fall.  The coach, in consultation with the parents, will choose the suit.  The final decision rests with the coach.  These are ordered by the club and costs added to your invoice.

Competition Fees:  There are 4-6 meets per year, and athletes are charged competition fees for each meet in which they participate.  These fees range from $25 to $75 per event at each meet. “Events” include figures, team, solo, duet or combo at a given meet. All provincial stream athletes compete in the figure event and a routine event (usually team).

Volunteer Levy:  Families that have swimmers registered in a competitive program are required to make a commitment to support the Club through volunteering.  Details can be found on our website and vary depending on the programming your athlete registers in : VOLUNTEER PLAN

Fundraising Levy: Parents/guardians of competitive swimmers will be asked to participate in fundraising events. Because Aquatica Synchro Club is a non-profit, incorporated organization, fundraising is a critical component of reducing the overall fees for all swimmers. A fundraising fee of $400.00 per family is paid in advance which is earned back when fundraising items are sold. This fee will be collected via cheque or e-transfer at the start of the season.

Travel Costs: Travel amounts to be confirmed once competition schedules have been released.

Note:  Aquatica Synchro reserves the right to withdraw programming if there is insufficient registration. Exact location, days and times of all programs are subject to pool confirmation in August 2025.

2025–2026 Travel Plans (Preliminary Information)

Travel plans for the 2025–2026 season have not yet been finalized. As a club, we recognize the financial commitment involved in attending national competitions and remain dedicated to keeping programming as affordable as possible.

11–12 Age Group
Athletes in the 11–12 category will travel to the Canadian Prairie Competition to be held in Saskatchewan in May.

National Stream Athletes
National Stream athletes will participate in MAS competitions throughout the 2025–2026 season. Dates for these events have not yet been confirmed, but typically include one competition in each of the following months: November, January/February, March, and April.

Once the full competition calendar is released, coaches will review and discuss options. Please note that any team wishing to compete internationally must receive approval from CAS. Currently, CAS has indicated that without participation at Qualifiers and Nationals by our High Performance teams, permission for international competition will not be granted.

The current plan is to attend Qualifiers in March. Travel to Nationals in May will be determined based on those results. In an effort to reduce costs, these trips will be shorter in duration than in previous years.

A travel information meeting will be scheduled for September once more details are available.

A google form will be sent out to all registered athletes in August requesting information from families interested in additional training.

Additional training for figures or other athlete needs may be arranged and will follow the same schedule.

At Aquatica, we do our best to accommodate the needs of the individual. Hours available for training will be communicated to competitive families.

Fees include pool space time, coaching time on deck, as well as coaches prep time to choreograph routines, plan practices and cut music.

Note:  Extra training that is scheduled on a day that conflicts with a holiday pool closure or competition day conflict will be made up. Coaches and parents are to communicate to determine the best time to fit in the make up session.
