Pan Am Pool Closure – January 2027

Please note that Pan Am Pool is scheduled to close on January 1, 2027 for redevelopment. As a result, our training locations and training days will change for the second half of the 2026–2027 season.

At this time, the City of Winnipeg has advised that clubs will receive their updated pool allocations in early December 2026. We have been informed that we will receive training space equivalent to our current allocation, but it will be shared across alternate City pools.

Based on the information currently available, our training may be scheduled at one or more of the following facilities:

  • Elmwood Kildonan Pool
  • Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex
  • Seven Oaks Pool
  • Bonivital Pool (possible)

We understand that this uncertainty may make planning for the second half of the season more challenging for families. As soon as we receive confirmed information from the City, we will communicate updated training schedules and locations as quickly as possible.

Given that our programming is in a state of flux due to pool closures in January, it is Aquatica’s intention to enhance land training, including strength, conditioning, and flexibility, to complement the work athletes will be able to do in the water in the new year.

Further, due to the uncertainty surrounding pool availability beginning in January, opportunities for athletes wishing to train additional routines (solos, duets, or extra team routines) may be more limited than in previous seasons. Until pool allocations are confirmed by the City, we are unable to commit to the level of flexibility we have been able to offer in past years. Our priority will be ensuring all athletes receive the pool time required for their registered programs. Once pool schedules have been finalized, Lead Supervisors and coaches will review athlete interest, readiness, available coaching resources, and pool space to determine which additional routine opportunities can be accommodated.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this City-wide transition. Our priority is to minimize disruption while continuing to provide quality training experiences for all Aquatica athletes.
